One of the most common diet and fitness myths around is that you need to change your life drastically to see results. Remember no pain, no gain? That is just really not true. In fact, that approach is likely to fail because such dramatic lifestyle overhauls are rarely sustainable for very long.

Instead, the key to lasting success is to focus on the small changes. Experts suggest these two: Aim to add 2,000 steps to your day (about one mile) and to cut 100 calories from what you eat (about 1 tablespoon of butter.) Over a year's time, adopting those two tiny changes could leave you 30 pounds lighter! Now that's a change you could live with, right?

While we tend to focus on the big mistakes we make (like eating half a bag of potato chips, oops!) the truth is it's really the little day-to-day choices that count. So go ahead, think small. It pays off in a big way!
